GreenEO participated in a Horizon Europe cluster meeting hosted by EUMETSATon3–4 February 2026 at EUMETSAT headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. The event brought together three EU-funded projects (GreenEO, PANORAMA, and CLEAR-EO) alongside representatives from the European Commission, and EUMETSAT.

The two-day meeting provided dedicated sessions to exchange information, coordinate activities, and discuss potential synergies as well as common challengesrelated to the use of next-generation meteorological satellite data and Copernicus services in support of the European Green Deal. Presentations covered the current status and future evolution of Copernicus and next-generation meteorological satellite missions, including the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), and their role in supporting EU environmental legislation and Green Deal objectives Discussions focused on topics such as data needs, data quality and validation, planned applications, user engagement, product dissemination, and links to policy and stakeholder communities.

GreenEO contributions highlighted the role of Earth Observation–based servicesin addressing environmental challenges, including climate resilience, air quality, land use, forests, and biodiversity. Discussions also highlighted how EO-derived indicators and compliance-oriented services can support policy assurance, bridge research outputs with policy needs, and strengthen evidence-based decision-making at European level. The cluster format enabled valuable cross-project dialogue and helped identify opportunities for collaboration and alignment across the three Horizon Europe projects.

GreenEO was represented at the meeting by consortium members from NILU, Météo-France, LGI, Lobelia, and IPMA, contributing to technical discussions and joint worktables. Round-table sessions addressed cross-cutting themes such as dissemination and exploitation strategies, policy uptake, data spaces, user engagement, and the application of machine learning in relation to EO services.
